ハリケーン・カトリーナに文字通り蹂躙されてしまったニューオリンズは、Vampire: The Requiemのデフォルト都市設定でもある。サプリメント『City of the Damned: New Orleans』に掲載されたシナリオアイデアの中には、

...Or perhaps you might set a game in the midst of a terrible storm, one that frightened citizens both living and undead believe is the “big one,” the hurricane that will finally sink the entire city beneath the Louisiana swamp...—— City of the Damned: New Orleans, p.124

という、不幸にも今日の惨状を予言する形になってしまったものもある（p.124「In the Wake of the Storm」参照）。

そういう縁の深い都市の災難に対して、White Wolf社は、自社サイトのWeb通販およびDriveThruRPG.comにおけるVampire: The Requiem全製品の売り上げの50％を、義援金として赤十字に寄付することを発表した（→記事原文）。

ちょうど新製品の『VII』がなかなかAmazonに入荷せず注文を出せない状態だったので、これからDriveThruで買おうと思う。
